About the IATP
IATP – Independent Asbestos Training Providers
Where excellence in training comes first!
IATP was established in 2009 as an umbrella organisation for Independent Asbestos Training Providers who preferred not to join a Trade Association but wanted to benefit from being part of a community of Like Minded Professionals.
IATP has 5 Training Member Types. Asbestos (Types A-B-C): BOHS: H&S: and e-Learning. All IATP Members are required to submit an Independent Audit of Competence and Compliance Annually for asbestos training. There is no requirement in the UK for any Asbestos Training Provider to be a Member of any Organisation; however there is a requirement to prove Competence and Compliance. Therefore all IATP Members Auditors details are listed opposite their company for clarity and transparency, this enables enforcing officers, governing bodies and potential clients to be able to confirm the Provider is competent or contact the auditor directly if required.
During 2009/10 IATP worked towards introducing a Nationally Recognised Accredited Asbestos Training Syllabus via OCN Credit4Learning. Accredited Asbestos Training is now available across all 3 types of asbestos training and is Exclusive to IATP Members to deliver to their clients. This ensures the quality of the training and is moderated by OCN, an independent educational accrediting body. http://ocncredit4learning.com/iatp.html When IATP say’s we can deliver Nationally Recognised Accredited Asbestos Training, we can and our Members can!
IATP works in co-operation with many organisations including HSE Policy, UK Unions: UK Charitable Organisations: Campaigning Groups and are proud to be partnered with ADAO. IATP is a Not for Profit Organisation and is lead by its Members, a working group is available for all Members to attend and contribute to IATP’s direction. Decisions are made by Members voting, in the absence of a 75% vote the IATP Directors will make a decision. IATP has a None Voting Chair Person.
